Integration and use of Facebook plugins such as the “Like” button

We use plugins from the social network facebook.com on some of our websites. A plugin is a computer program that “plugs” into another software product and thus extends its functionality. The “Like” button integrated into our websites represents one such plugin. Facebook.com is a service provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. If you access one of our websites that has an integrated Facebook plugin, you will be connected to Facebook’s servers. Only via a notification to your browser initiated in this way will the plugin be displayed on our website. We hereby expressly point out that the recognition of your browser automatically transfers information to Facebook’s servers pertaining to which of our websites you have visited. If you are also logged in as a Facebook member, Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account. The same applies to the use of the plugin features, e.g. by clicking the “Like” button or commenting in the live stream widget. This information is also assigned to your Facebook user account. You can prevent this if you log out of Facebook before using our websites. Comprehensive information on the collection, storage and use of your data by Facebook; the exercise of your rights; and the protection of your privacy can be found in Facebook’s Data Policy facebook.com/policy.php and Guide to Privacy facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php.

Web analytics/use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services related to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies by changing the appropriate settings in your browser; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the features of this website to their full extent.
